The Treasury Department monitors and manages the treasury functions of ICBC (London) plc including Asset Liability Management, Investments and Foreign Exchange/Money Market Operations.
Service includes:
Asset Liability Management (ALM)
The ALM function comprises the Management of Liquidity, Maturity profiles of Assets and Liabilities, Interest Rate risks, Mismatch Ratio and Counterparty Limits.
Investments
The objectives of Investment Operations at ICBC (London) plc are to ensure full compliance to regulatory requirements, that funds are invested securely, optimise profitability from Investment Operations, and Maintenance of Liquidity. Investment Operations are conducted in accordance with the investment policy set forth by the credit committee. The main product include Treasury, Corporate Bond, Financial Institution Bond , Structured Notes.
Except investment in plain bonds, The Bank will use derivative products, such as IRS, Option , SWAP to eliminate its exposure to interest rate risk and enhance its total return.
Money Market Operations
The Bank will ensure that it remains within its liquidity guidelines at all times by using Money Market tools. Surplus funds will be placed into the money market and fund will be borrowed from the inter-bank market for financing purpose.
Foreign Exchange
In order to minimise the foreign currency risk exposure , The bank will conduct Spot and Forward FX business which mainly cover the main currencies ,USD, EURO and Sterling Pound.
